The zoo is going all-in on their campaign to have the now-retired Geoffrey the Giraffe become a part of the San Antonio Zoo family. In addition to a social media push, they’ve also started a GoFundMe page.
Geoffrey the @ToysRUs mascot may be going extinct! We are passionate about securing a future for wildlife and would like to secure a future for Geoffrey so that he can be a symbol for giraffe conservation. Donate today!https://t.co/KABpwlbQUX#SaveGeoffrey#SaveGiraffes pic.twitter.com/Uxjjl39EnJ

The zoo posted:
With only 100,000 giraffes remaining in the wild, San Antonio Zoo hopes to generate more than $100,000 in support to persuade the owners at Toys“R”Us to join the effort to save giraffes by donating the use of their most recognizable intellectual property.
This is a chance for Geoffrey and the great people at Toys“R”Us to leave a legacy gift that has the potential to change the world and bring smiles to children for generations to come.
So far, they’ve raised just $2,000 of the $100,000 requested but they’re not giving up yet! Check out the video below and let us know what you think in the comments!
