“Middle child syndrome” is what psychologists call “the feeling of exclusion by middle children. This effect occurs because the first child is more prone to receiving privileges and responsibilities, while the youngest in the family is more likely to receive indulgences.”
By this definition, middle children are often seen as negative, mopey, whiners who do nothing but complain about their siblings having it better or easier than them. We all know this is certainly not always true. Just look to Princess Charlotte as an example.
Technically, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s second child is still the youngest, but technically, she already falls into the “middle child” category as the Dutchess of Cambridge is expecting Baby No. 3 in a few short weeks. However, Princess Charlotte doesn’t appear to have the personality to fall into the trapping of the syndrome. At least, not from what her father and fans of the Royal Family see!
Prince Williams has described his daughter as a “delight” who “loves to dance.” She is often seen smiling in photos with her loving parents and she is said to be quite a hit around the palaces because the two-year-old princess is said to be an entertainer.
She’s been described by some as a “little” light and loves making people smile. You can look at a few examples from her short time on this planet and see a star in the making a mile away!
Last May, Princess Charlotte was one of the bridesmaids at her Aunt Pippa’s wedding and stole not only the show, but another bridesmaid’s flower crown. Photos of the adorable little girl wearing a crown on her head and carrying one is her hand was snapped by both guests and professional photogs and became one of the most memorable – and talked about – moments of the event.
That face! Those cheeks! How precious is she?! Another time Princess Charlotte had people around the world uttering a sigh from the adorable overload was over the summer when the tiny royal’s first “official” curtsy was caught on camera saying goodbye and thanks to officials seeing off the Royal Family as the boarded an airplane for Germany.
From photos to videos and tweets to Instagram posts, Princess Charlotte is always sweet, adorable, and shines bright. She’s not shy or afraid to talk to strangers which is one of the many reasons the entire world adores her.
Although people warn that middle children don’t always get enough attention, that is one problem Princess Charlotte will likely never have – especially when she keeps stealing the spotlight!
