We’re living in contradictory times, sadly.
On one hand, there are women like Ashley Graham, Madeline Stuart, and Melanie Gaydos are shattering the stereotypes of models.
These women aren’t your typical size-0 supermodels. Graham is a normal and healthy size 14, Stuart is the world’s first model with Down syndrome, and Gaydos was born with a rare genetic disorder called ectodermal dysplasia.
They aren’t the only women that are trying to make young ladies feel beautiful regardless of color, size, shape, disability, disorder, social status, or for any other reason that women typically feel bad about.
Celebrities like Demi Lovato and Pink have also stressed the importance of self-esteem and to shake the haters off because it only matters how we feel about ourselves.
On the other hand, there is still constant pressure on young girls to look a certain way when they see gorgeous, slim, flawless actresses, singers, and models plastered all over magazines.
