For much of the 90’s, the Spice Girls sang the soundtrack for young ladies’ lives across the world. Their debut album Spice was released in 1996 and with it, their megahit “Wannabe” hit the airwaves and made the quintet an instant phenomenon.
Since then, they have sold 85 million records worldwide, making them the best-selling female group of all time.
Not only that, they are one of the best-selling pop groups of all time and are widely considered to be the biggest British pop sensation since Beatlemania.
Sadly, the Spice Girls didn’t last as long as anyone would have hoped.
Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell abruptly left the group in 1998 and the rest of the Girls – Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown – also known as Mel B., Melanie “Sporty Spice” Chisholm, Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton, and Victoria “Posh Spice” Adams – now Beckham continued on for two years without her.
They took a “hiatus” in 2000, which would in actuality be the end of the Spice Girls as we knew it.
Seven years later, the unthinkable happened: They got back together.

The reunion was sadly short-lived, but during the brief time they were back together, they sold out concert venues and merchandise retailers around the world.
Then, just as fast as they reunited, they disbanded.
